Online Grooming
Online grooming is when someone builds trust so as to get an individual to do something sexual or illegal via the internet. Children and young adults are particularly vulnerable, with cases becoming more common and Snapchat being the main forum.
Parents need to be aware how easily children can be taken in by online strangers. Potential signs for concern can be:
• Keeping secrets and/or lying
• Suddenly having unexplainable money
• Avoiding spending time with other friends
