The British School of Gran Canaria offers a comprehensive, stimulating and challenging education for students aged 3-18, incorporating the classes Nursery through to Year 13. The UK National Curriculum is the foundation of the school’s teaching, with minor adjustments to take account of local and national expectations and requirements. The curriculum is delivered in English, reaching and meeting UK expectations. Students in the older year groups take the internationally recognised and independently validated International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A Levels examinations in preparation for university entrance.
The curriculum is divided into sequential stages that take the student from the age of 3 to 18, systematically building upon and extending knowledge, skills and experiences. The various stages are set out below:
